Experiencing a Robbery and Relative Privation

Posted by in Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner

Well, it’s finally happened. I can just about say I’ve experienced all the cliche things you could probably imagine a convenience store owner can go through. On January 30th of 2016, my store had gotten robbed at gun point. Before you ask though, I AM OKAY. DON’T WORRY. I’M NOT SUFFERING THROUGH TRAUMA OR ANYTHING. I really am okay. Okay so with that said, let’s continue with what happened. Right around 9:30pm, thirty minutes before I would close the store, I was helping out some regular customers at the register….read more

Unlimited Introspection Works: Ideals vs Reality

Posted by in Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner, Life, Reflection

Like in my post A Bird’s Cage, there will be (explicit) spoilers from the Fate/Stay Night (+Unlimited Blade Works) series. If you haven’t seen any of the Fate/Stay Night series and would not like to get spoiled, I would recommend watching it soon (the newest adaptation by UFO Table, Unlimited Blade Work tv series is a great one). Without further ado, here is Unlimited Introspection Works: Ideals vs Reality.

Amusing Observations: Costco Employees and “Jokes”

Posted by in Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner, Life

So most of my days are usually quite dull in the sense that nothing really interesting happens. There are certain times where something happens that catches my attention and I can’t help but feel compelled to at least share my experience. It will also serve as a nice way for me to look back and laugh at it when I decide to look through my blog. Though now that I have almost 400 posts here, there’s certainly now a lot of content to look through… In any case, let me…read more

A Rather Odd Beginning

Posted by in Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner, Life

As I pointed out earlier this week, I will be posting at least once a week. I’ll try to aim for the weekends, but don’t worry. I’ll still find a few other things to post about. So yeah, my year has actually been going really well. The store is starting to pick up a little and we actually broke the record on Friday (made over 1k+). Certainly a nice way to start the new year. While nothing of major importance has happened yet (I doubt anything would so early in…read more

Day 350: House Keeping

Posted by in 365 Day Challenge, Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner

It’s a little unbelievable that I’ve reached this point now. Looking at the title of this post also reminds me that both Christmas and New Years is approaching at a startling rate. With the amount of time that I have available to me, I believe I will have to start taking new measures to help myself accomplish more tasks than I normally would. I have to blame myself for not being able to wake up at an earlier time but I can make this work too.

Day 347: Let there Be Light!

Posted by in 365 Day Challenge, Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner

A post without any pictures of nendoroids or scale figures for the first time in a long time! There’s a bit of a reason to it though. The random “announcement” post that I put up some time ago has something to do with it. I’ll be using the extra time to focus on setting up places for the epic story I will put up on the last week of the year. So with that said, let’s go on with updates that I haven’t done in a long time, shall we?

Voluntary Assistance

Posted by in Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner

Last week on the day of Thanksgiving, there was a old gentleman who came into my store asking for help. He had been walking around for a while and became lost. It was quite evident from the contents of his wallet (to which he presented to me) that he was beginning to suffer, or at least prepare, from dementia. He carried information such as the location of where he lives, cards indicating what kind of car he and his wife drives, and his wife’s phone number. I was going to…read more

Day 226: Unnecessary Conflicts

Posted by in 365 Day Challenge, Chronicles of a Disgruntled Store Owner

Just so I can explain a bit of the picture above, I tried to do something similar to a green screen with some blue tissue paper that I had laying around. I knew it’d be a bit of a long shot but I tried it anyway. As I expected, it didn’t come out all that great. It’s only to be expected if I were to use the flash on the camera. What I would really need is some lighting fixtures to properly light the area. Since the outcome of the…read more
